Since I started this channel in 2021, the story of Brian Boru was one I desperately wanted to film. The delay in getting it made is Brian is such a major force in Irish history and so important to me on a personal level that I didn’t want to just throw something together.
It was important to make it to as many important locations to Brian’s life as possible for the video. I don’t believe in taking shortcuts with Irish stories so I knew I needed to get transport to holy Island and try to make this an immersive experience for you. I’d appreciate if you could tell me if I succeeded?
The timing for this video was set by a dear friend’s suggestion that I film about Brian because of the new bridge at Killaloe that opened yesterday. I believe in signs and took that to mean it was time to tell this story, especially considering how stunning the weather has been the last few weeks.
This video only covers small parts of Brian’s life but I am excited to revisit this fascinating figure in future videos.
