Major Cyber-Attack in Ireland: Systems Disrupted, Recovery Could Take Days.

A major cyber-attack struck Ireland at around 11:30 BST, causing serious disruption. Gardaí (Irish police) were assisted by the Irish army’s explosive disposal team in the response.

Ciaran Martin, the former head of the UK’s National Cyber Security Centre, told BBC’s Good Morning Ulster that such disruptions can take “days to recover.” He also warned against speculation about who was behind the attack, noting that recent incidents have ranged from state actors to cyber-criminal groups.

Unlike typical ransomware attacks, no ransom demand has yet been publicised in this case.

Stay tuned for more updates as the investigation unfolds.
