The excitement that washed over O’Connell Secondary School in Drumcondra, Dublin, yesterday was palpable.
Fifth-year students were out on the astro pitch bright and early, re-enacting the iconic goal scored by past pupil Troy Parrott that has kept Ireland’s World Cup qualification dream alive.
School principal Liam Newell said Parrott’s raw talent was celebrated in the area long before Sunday’s hat-trick.
