Albert Dolan TD asks HSE: €30 Million on Postage, €15 Million Lost! Where’s the Accountability?

At a tense Oireachtas Committee hearing, Deputy Albert Dolan pressed HSE CEO Bernard Gloster and CFO Stephen Mulvany on a series of issues: from wasteful spending to weak accountability structures.

The exchange revealed:

The HSE still spends €30 million a year on postage for letters that could be sent by SMS or email.

One-third of senior HSE staff have not filed required ethics declarations.

A €15 million payment was made for goods never received, with those responsible “no longer available” for investigation.

Dolan: “The public will not accept that €15 million was paid and the people who approved it just walked away.”
Gloster: “People failed in their duty, but I can’t investigate those who’ve left the organisation.”

On this channel, we report on the activities of politicians of all political options for documentary purposes. Publishing a clip does not mean that we support or oppose the position presented. We believe that this helps avoid manipulation, and by presenting full statements, voters will make up their own opinion.
