
Both Presidential Hopefuls Cast Their Ballots as Ireland Goes to the Polls
Both presidential candidates have now voted in today’s election.
Fine Gael’s Heather Humphreys cast her vote in Monaghan, while independent candidate Catherine Connolly voted in Galway.
Outgoing President Michael D. Higgins also cast his ballot just a short distance from Áras an Uachtaráin.
Polling stations across the country remain open until 10pm tonight.
