CLOUGHMORE STONE AND A RECEDING ICE AGE.

The Cloughmore stone is situated 1,000 ft on the slopes of Slieve Martin Mountain in County Down. It’s a 50 tonne rock called a glacial erattic. It was transported from Strathclyde, Scotland, by retreating glacial ice about 10,000 years ago.
