IRELAND – Gardaí are investigating the circumstances surrounding a fatal assault in Dublin city centre in the early hours of this morning, as well as a separate serious assault that occurred on North Wall Quay on Friday night.
The fatal incident occurred on Foster Terrace, Dublin 3, beside Croke Park, shortly before 1.30am on Saturday, January 31st, 2026.
In a statement, An Garda Síochána said they responded to reports of an assault and discovered a man in his 50s with serious injuries.
“A male (aged in his 50s) was discovered with serious injuries and was subsequently pronounced deceased at the scene,” Gardaí said.
Two women in their 60s were also injured during the incident. Gardaí confirmed that one woman sustained non-life-threatening injuries and is awaiting discharge from hospital, while the second woman suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries and remains in hospital receiving treatment.
