IRELAND – As the price of fuel becomes unaffordable for many farmers, hauliers, transport businesses with no meaningful relief being provided by the Irish government; crisis meetings of farmers business owners have taken place over the weekend to plan a mass blockage of Dublin’s main arterial roads, airport and port as a last resort method of getting the support they need to stay in business. A proposal has now been submitted to the government and an ultimatum issued that unless decisive action is taken to reduce fuel prices, an Easter shutdown of Dublin could take place imminently.
