Dublin Port City View: Live Ship Movements on the River Liffey

Dublin Port is the largest and busiest port in Ireland, with some €165bn billion of trade and 1.6 million ferry passengers each year. There has been a port in Dublin since the 1700’s, situated in what is now the thriving UNESCO biosphere of Dublin Bay. An integral part of Dublin city, the port welcomes thousands of visitors a year to the Great South Wall, the Greenway and to events in our Pumphouse and Substation. Welcome to the hardworking heart of Dublin.

The Dublin Port live streams provide real-time views of Dublin Port, highlighting the movement of ships, cranes, and port operations. The camera facing Dublin City captures the activity along the River Liffey with views of the Aviva Stadium and Dublin mountains with some of the local yacht and boat clubs in view alongside commercial shipping operations in the North and South Port.

The shipping channel is sheltered by the breakwaters of the Great South Wall and North Bull Wall, as well as by surrounding structures. Combined with the elevated position and resolution of the cameras, this often makes the water appear calmer here than in less sheltered areas, even during severe weather conditions. The cameras provide a clear and detailed view of port activities but may not fully convey weather conditions experienced in other parts of the city or coastline.
