Plans for the redevelopment of Moore Street raised questions about the future of one of Dublin’s oldest and most iconic markets, long sustained by generations of family traders. Inspired by similar projects in Liverpool, proposals aimed to modernise the area while preserving its unique character and trading tradition. While some traders remained confident the spirit of Moore Street would endure, others faced uncertainty as compulsory purchase orders began. Officials emphasised that the goal was to revitalise the area without losing its cultural identity.
