A judge has ordered the arrest of anti-transgender schoolteacher Enoch Burke for again breaching an injunction restraining him from going to Wilson’s Hospital School.
Mr Justice Brian Cregan today made an order for the immediate arrest of Mr Burke by gardaí and for him to be brought before the High Court on Monday morning for a committal hearing.
The order for the teacher’s arrest was made after he failed to attend in court for the hearing of an attachment and committal application brought by the school’s board of management.
Mr Burke was instead present at the school, where he went past the front gate but was blocked from walking up the driveway by a security guard.
