Glen Hansard has died at 56. This is him leading the Christmas Eve Busk on Grafton Street — the annual charity sing-song he started back in 2010, raising funds for the Dublin Simon Community.
I met Glen a couple of times over the years, and every time, I’d ask him the same thing — what about the Christmas Eve busk this year? He always knew, straight off the top of his head.
From busking on the street to an Oscar for “Falling Slowly,” to fronting The Frames for over three decades — Glen was one of the greats, and one of the most genuine people you could meet.
RIP Glen. You’ll always have a place in Dublin’s heart. 🖤
