Government Buys CityWest Hotel for €148 Million as Permanent IPAS Centre
The government has agreed to purchase the CityWest Hotel complex in Co Dublin for €148 million to use as a permanent centre for international protection applicants.
The State has leased the site since 2020, initially for COVID-19 response and later as a transit hub and accommodation centre for Ukrainian citizens and people seeking asylum.
Justice Minister Jim O’Callaghan described the purchase as “value for money.”
