Tanaiste and Minister for Finance Simon Harris was in a heated exchange with Sinn Féin’s Pearse Doherty during Leaders’ Questions in the Dáil today after Doherty brought up the issue of rental prices.
The Donegal TD implored the government to ‘ban rent increases’ before insisting that the Fine Gael leader broke a pre-election promise to increase tax credits. Harris hit back at Sinn Féin’s stance on small landlords while suggesting that the people of Ireland ‘don’t trust’ Doherty who is in his 15th year as opposition finance spokesperson.
