At MCC Brussels’ European Parliament event “The Threat of Trans Ideology in Europe: Women’s Rights in Danger,” Dr Ashley Frawley, sociologist and visiting fellow at MCC Brussels, exposes how the EU’s new LGBTQI+ Equality Strategy (2026–2030) quietly embeds gender identity ideology into education, health, and family policy — often against the will of member states and their citizens.
Frawley explains how EU-funded NGOs and activist networks use “rhetorical shields” — invoking women’s rights and gay rights — to smuggle in radical gender theories, displace biological sex with identity, and criminalise dissent. She reveals how programmes sold as “anti-discrimination” or “best practice” are in fact used to bypass national sovereignty and re-educate children in the language of gender identity.
Her warnings are stark: when “gender” replaces “sex,” women’s protections collapse; when disagreement becomes “hate,” democracy withers. From de-transitioners silenced by law to police knocking on women’s doors in the name of kindness, Frawley argues Europe is drifting into a system where truth itself is policed.
“Disagreement is not hate. But in Brussels, dissenting women are treated as extremists.”
