Sammy TV Contracting & Land Solution Services has officially landed its first job… and where better to start than the bog! 🌿🚜
What I thought was going to be a straightforward day’s work with Bertie quickly turned into a much bigger challenge than I expected. It soon became clear there was no way the two of us were going to get it finished on our own, so I had to call in a couple of familiar faces to help get the job done.
This turned into one of those days that reminded me why I love travelling around Ireland and meeting the people who keep these traditions alive. From the hard work on the bog to the tea, sandwiches, music and plenty of laughs, there was a real sense of community that you don’t come across every day.
As someone who didn’t grow up farming or working on the bog, it was a real eye-opener. Seeing generations of people working together, sharing stories and carrying on traditions that have been part of rural Ireland for decades was something really special. It almost felt like stepping back in time, and I loved every minute of it.
A massive thank you to everyone in Offaly for making us feel so welcome and for giving Bertie his first proper day’s work. I hope you enjoy this one as much as I enjoyed filming it!
