Figures show that in the year up to April 2023, the number of immigrants to Ireland was more than 140,000, a 16-year high.</p> <p>Immigration has recovered since the end of the COVID-19 pandemic restrictions, and more than 100,000 Ukrainians have arrived in Ireland since the Russian invasion.</p> <p>The 2022 census revealed that the number of people who live in Ireland but were born elsewhere now stands at 20% of the population.
