Dublin councilors will vote tomorrow on whether to remove the name of former Israeli President Chaim Herzog from a public park — a move already causing international controversy. Supporters say the renaming is an opportunity to highlight what they describe as grave human rights concerns in Gaza, while critics argue it is unnecessarily divisive.
Current Israeli President Isaac Herzog called the proposal “shameful,” and Ireland’s Taoiseach urged councilors to step back — but many say they won’t.
This comes as Ireland increases its political support for Palestine through recognition and public statements.
If approved, Dublin would become the first European capital to take such a step.
Drop a 🇵🇸 if you believe renaming the park matters.
