In this video, I break down Ireland’s most terrifying public service ads and how fear was used as public messaging across Irish television and media. From extreme Irish road safety ads that aired pre-watershed, to clinical anti-smoking ads shown on Irish TV, to drug scare stories that appeared in teen magazines instead of commercials, this was a country that believed shock worked.
