Ireland’s New Plan for Asylum Seekers: โ‚ฌ10,000 to Leave? | The Millennial Cynic

Today I take a look at new plans unveiled by Minister for Justice Jim O’Callaghan to try to ease the pressure on Ireland’s International Protection System, namely to offer allowances of up to €10,000 for asylum seekers to leave Ireland voluntarily. This move has been endorsed by both An Taoiseach and Fianna Fáil Leader Micheál Martin, and by Fine Gael’s Minister for Finance Paschal Donohoe.

Will this new allowance actually work? Or will it cause more harm than good?
