Irishman who had €10,000 stolen from Revolut account told he’s ‘not entitled to reimbursement’

On September 12, Paul Walsh went to buy a coffee using his Revolut card, but became alarmed when the transaction was declined.

The 36-year-old, who had been using Revolut to manage finances for his technology business and to save for a mortgage, knew there was thousands of euro in the account.

Yet when he opened the app, he was shocked to see that almost €10,000 had been drained from it the day before. Six transactions were made over the space of six minutes to accounts that he did not recognise – and he claims he never authorised any of them.
