Broadcaster, political commentator and former TD Ivan Yates appeared an Oireachtas Media Committee this evening on the back of the story that he provided media training to Jim Gavin during the presidential election. The story, which resulted in Yates being removed from his ‘Path to Power’ podcast with Matt Cooper, also revealed he had provided training to several other Fianna Fáil members in recent years.
Speaking this evening, the former Fine Gael Minister said he purposefully didn’t tell Cooper about his involvement with Gavin, and pointed that ‘many double standards’ within the Irish media industry.
