Justice Minister Jim O’Callaghan today announced changes to Ireland’s migration and citizenship rules. Refugees seeking Irish citizenship will now face a five-year waiting period, with working individuals receiving preferential treatment. Welfare claims during that time will be reviewed, and refugee status may be revoked if someone poses a threat to the State.
