It’s understood the incident involves multiple fatalities and happened at around 10am on Monday.
Gardai issued this statement to the Irish Mirror: ‘An Garda Siochana is currently responding to a serious ongoing incident in Co Louth this morning.
“As this is in its early stages no further information is available at this time’
