Mary Boyle: Ireland’s Unexplained Disappearance

In rural County Donegal, Ireland, six-year-old Mary Boyle vanished without a trace on March 18th, 1977. While visiting her grandparents’ isolated farmhouse near Cashelard, Mary followed her uncle partway across the boggy hillside before turning back alone. She never made it home. What followed became the largest search operation to have taken place in Ireland. Draining lakes, combing bogs, and deploying hundreds of searchers across unforgiving terrain.
