</p> <h2>Mayo CC votes to cease co-operation with Department of Integration over refugee housing strategy</h2> <p> Mayo County Council has unanimously passed a motion calling on the local authority’s staff to stop co-operating with the Department of Integration over the housing of asylum seekers. Ellen Butler and Mary McCarthy discuss with Kieran Cuddihy on The Hard Shoulder.</p> <p>In a non-binding vote, the Mayo County Council voted ‘that all co-operation ceases immediately, between the staff of Mayo County Council and the Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration & Youth of Ireland, until such time as an agreed strategy is put in place to properly co-ordinate the provision of additional services for the communities hosting refugees and international protection applicants.
