Murder in the Co Kildare Village
On the evening of January 23rd, 1996, Joyce Quinn—a beloved mother of three and local shopkeeper in Milltown, County Kildare—vanished without a trace. When she failed to return home by 8 PM, her husband Ray, an officer in the Defence Forces, grew alarmed and set out with their son to search the familiar route she would have taken. They found her shop closed but empty, and there was no sign of Joyce. Ray promptly reported her missing, setting in motion a frantic search that would end in tragedy.
Less than 24 hours later, Joyce’s body was discovered on the remote Curragh Plains. A brutal forensic picture emerged: Joyce had been beaten, rxxxx, and fatally stabbed with a boning knife. As the investigation unfolded, detectives were confronted with the chilling reality that her killer likely came from within the tight-knit local community. This episode unravels the harrowing case of Joyce Quinn’s murder, told through the voices of her grieving family and the lead detective determined to bring justice to a devastated town.
