Nine people are dead following a mass shooting at Debsirin Nonthaburi School near Bangkok, Thailand, on August 7, 2026.
Police said the 14-year-old teen shooter first killed his grandparents at their home before travelling to the school in Bang Kruai, Nonthaburi province, where he opened fire on teachers and pupils. Six people were killed at the school before the shooter took his own life, bringing the total number of dead to nine.
The teenager reportedly used his grandfather’s handgun and fired at least 26 rounds during the attack. Thailand’s Health Ministry said 22 people were injured, including nine in critical condition, while terrified students hid inside classrooms and fled the school grounds.
The Thailand school shooting is the country’s deadliest mass killing since 2022 and its second school shooting of 2026. Police are investigating what led to the deadly attack as families and the wider community mourn those killed.
