Taoiseach Micheál Martin and Tánaiste Simon Harris have outlined a major Government housing push as pressure intensifies over Ireland’s housing crisis.
Speaking ahead of Cabinet, Martin and Harris addressed plans to accelerate construction, tackle derelict and empty properties and tighten rules around short-term lets. The Government has approved 82 infrastructure projects through its €1 billion Housing Infrastructure Investment Fund, with investment in roads, water, drainage and other essential services intended to unlock land for tens of thousands of new homes.
