Paul Kimmage at the US Open: Rory finally speaks

It was another tough day in Oakmont for Rory McIlory at the US Open, as six bogeys and two birdies just about summed up his week. “Anytime he made a little mistake, it was a bogey,” says Brian Keogh. The world’s number two golfer has clearly been out of sorts this week, but afterwards he spoke to the media for the first time – for just under five minutes. It began with Stephen Watson of the BBC asking him to sum up his tournament: “Pretty average,” replied McIlroy. It finished when he was asked what his hopes for the final day were: “Hopefully a round in under four and a half hours and get out of here,” he said. Paul Kimmage and Brian Keogh talk about what’s eating Rory, and all the other news from the third round.
