Cllr Tommy Hartigan is one of two elected Councillors Independent Ireland have representing the Adare- Rathkeale LEA on Limerick City and County Council
Cllr Hartigan was elected for the first time in June 2024.
Cllr Hartigan secured 1,217 first preference votes and was elected on the 7th count
Tommy became the youngest member of Limerick’s City and County Council at 23 years of age.
Before entering politics, he was heavily involved in local organizations, including serving as:
Chairman of the Askeaton Ballysteen Youth Club.
Secretary and founding member of the Shannon River Duck Project.
Chairman of the West Limerick Grey Partridge Conservation Project.
Key Issues: His political focus includes preserving rural identity and tradition, supporting local businesses, and addressing the lack of affordable housing for young people in Ireland.
