We have been harvesting our potatoes and it seems we have some mixed results. Overall the harvest is smaller than last year even though we planted more. Last year’s harvest was so good we were encouraged to plant more this year and Lol tried the Amish method of growing vertically. It seems though, that we got the wrong type of potatoes. They should have been indeterminate and when we asked specifically for indeterminate the garden centre staff were not quite sure. We think the seed potatoes they gave us were not for indeterminate potatoes. So our harvest is smaller than expected. Not to worry, we have carrots, beetroots, kale, turnips and squash that will be going into our winter store.
