Tragedy of Storm Chandra in Ireland! Flash flooding trap cars and people in Dublin

Storm Chandra has brought strong winds and severe flooding to large parts of the UK and Ireland as it battered the country. The storm has caused road closures, as well as train, ferry, and flight cancellations.

The Dublin and County Wexford areas were hit by the ‘worst ever’ flood chaos as Storm Chandra caused torrential rain to burst rivers and Met Eireann warned of more flooding.

In Dublin, pictures and video on social media show cars submerged in parts of Rathfarnham, Sandyford, Nutgrove and Rathgar, with Dublin Fire Brigade also attending to flooding reported in Kilternan, Hunters Wood, Firhouse and Glencullen.
