US Senator TARGETS Ireland Over ISRAEL

Dublin City Council has withdrawn its proposal to rename Herzog Park in Rathgar after heavy backlash at home and abroad. Irish Prime Minister (Taoiseach) Micheál Martin called the move “divisive” and urged withdrawal; Dublin’s chief executive Richard Shakespeare cited procedural errors and pulled the report. Israeli and U.S. figures also weighed in, while supporters of the change had pushed to honor a Palestinian child killed in Gaza. In this video, I explain what happened, why the renaming plan was paused, the legal/procedural issues, and how the controversy reflects wider tensions in Ireland over the Israel-Hamas war. I also break down reactions from Dublin officials, the Irish government, and Israeli representatives, and what could happen next if the issue returns to the council’s Commemorations & Naming Committee.
