Wasting Billions- Squandering €23B Surplus?!
Today I take a look back at the past two months here in Ireland, and ask where on earth our massive budget surplus is being spent, because it’s certainly not being spent on anything useful for Ireland!
Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael have literal billions at their disposal (€23 Billion surplus as of the last budget!) and yet our services and infrastructure are crying out for investment, with none forthcoming.
Water services under strain, little to no housing being built, rents and the cost of living running wild, all against the backdrop of failing children in the worst ways possible: unnecessary hip surgeries, National Children’s Hospital still unopened, and children languishing on wait lists while the Government break their own law regarding the Assessment of Need.
