After months of drought and struggling for grass, has it finally turned the corner? The rain has arrived and the farm is looking a lot greener, so Joe takes a walk through the paddocks to see what grass growth is actually like and whether there’s enough ahead of the cows.
Fionn is out grass measuring, we look at our latest farm figures, milk production and what fertiliser we plan to spread now. But the difficult growing season has also affected our reseeding plans, and Joe explains why those plans haven’t worked out as expected.
Elsewhere on the farm, there’s morning milking with our youngest, Oscar helps move the heifers, the E-Gate decides not to cooperate, and there’s another repair job when the gear stick on the New Holland needs attention.
After such a difficult summer, it’s certainly good to see green fields again!
