The long-awaited merger of the GAA with the Ladies Gaelic Football Association and Camogie Association in 2027 promises to reshape Irish sport, but questions remain over gender inequality.
The four codes will unite at an estimated cost of €500m, according to GAA president Jarlath Burns. A steering group on integration, headed by former president Mary McAleese, has pledged a “comprehensive, thoroughgoing listening process” with stakeholders.
