Social Democrats TD Cian O’Callaghan called on the Taoiseach to explain why the Ireland Strategic Investment Fund increased it’s holding of Israeli bonds in 2024, before only divesting from them in recent week’s.
Taoiseach Micheál Martin stated that Government is not involved in the ISIF’s investments, that is is clear that Government completely opposes Israel’s actions in Gaza, and that deputy O’Callaghan’s remarks were an ‘outrageous, exaggerated assertion’.
