Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky received a sharply mixed reaction during a visit to Dublin on Tuesday, with some residents welcoming the show of solidarity and others condemning him over Ukraine’s corruption scandal. Supporters said the trip was important for Ukrainians and affirmed Ireland’s humanitarian backing, while critics accused Zelensky of destroying his country and sending young men to their deaths. Ireland, which has taken in more than 100,000 Ukrainians since 2022, provides only non-lethal and humanitarian support through EU mechanisms.
