Caves of Keash (Caves of Kesh) in County Sligo

The caves of Keash (Caves of Kesh) in County Sligo. Keash Caves consists of 16 interconnecting caves on the side of Keshcorran hill. Stories tell us that the High King of Ireland was born below these caves and human remains found inside date back to the Neolithic period (Stone Age). There were also the remains of brown bear and wolves among many other types of animals that date back to 10,000BC. Quartz crystals and glacier boulder beds indicate the caves were once buried beneath an ice sheet and they come with unobstructed views of the lush countryside below
