The Skellig Islands, Portmagee village and Valentia Island – Kerry, Ireland
Excellent video footage of The Skellig Islands including Skellig Michael. With a sixth-century Christian monastery perched at 160 m (520 ft) above sea level on a ledge close to the top of the lower peak.
Skellig Michael is designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site where we can see the 6th century monastic settlement. More recently it is famous as appearing on the final scene of Star Wars movie, The Force Awakens.
We also see footage of the coastal fishing village of Portmagee which is on the mainland and the bridge across to Valentia Island. We also have footage of the island itself.
