‘The carnage that week was just savagery’: Owner of store looted during the Dublin Riots
The owner of an O’Connell Street store looted in the Dublin riots, said “lawlessness” remains in the north city despite an increase in gardai
Paul Gallagher, who owns the Asics store on O’Connell Street, looted and damaged in the Dublin riots in November 2023, also owns the Sketchers store on Henry Street in north city Dublin.
The businessman has warned if action isn’t taken to clean up Dublin city crime and anti-social behaviour, quickly: “It’s going to become almost a no-go area.”
A year-and-a-half after the riots and despite an increase in gardai on the city streets, not enough has changed in a positive direction for Mr Gallagher.
